The “AQUÍ ME QUEDO” apartments are located near the small village of El Carmen de Nandayure in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, in the lower part of the Río Ora valley, just 3 km from the Pacific coast.
The Apartments:
We offer two identical apartments located on the first and second floors of a building completed in late 2024 (each with a living area of 36 m², terrace/balcony of 12 m²).
Each consists of one bedroom for two people, a fully equipped kitchen, and a living area with a fold-out sofa and TV (Netflix). The sofa can be used as a bed for a third person. The bedroom is equipped with air conditioning, and ceiling fans are also available in the living area and bedroom. The bathroom is equipped with a hot-water shower.
The first-floor apartment has a spacious terrace, while the second-floor apartment has a balcony of the same size with a very beautiful view of Río Ora and the surrounding mountains. We provide a Starlink Internet connection with 100MBit/s.
Nearby Beaches:
Some of Costa Rica’s most beautiful Pacific beaches are located in the immediate vicinity of the apartments, including Playa Puerto Carrillo (approx. 6.5 km away), Playa Sámara (approx. 12 km away), Playa Corozalito (approx. 13.5 km away), and Playa Barrigona (approx. 20 km away).
One of the best surfing spots on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast – Playa Camaronal – is just 4 km away. Camaronal and Corozalito beaches are nature reserves where you can observe sea turtles.
Río Ora, La Angostura and other activities:
The Río Ora and its tributaries invite you to swim with their fresh, clean water, and their river beaches are perfect for relaxing with a good barbecue or for a romantic night by the campfire under the magical starry sky of the Río Ora Valley.
A particularly beautiful spot for swimming and bathing is “La Angostura,” a spot in the middle reaches of the Río Ora, where a natural channel up to 3 meters deep has formed within basalt rocks. “La Angostura” is only about 4.5 km from the apartments. A very nice hike is to walk up the river to “Angostura” early in the morning (about 2-3 hours depending on your walking speed).
You can then refresh yourself with a dip and swim and walk back across the road (just over an hour, almost no traffic). A morning river walk is the perfect opportunity to observe a large variety of birds and, with a little luck, other animals such as deer, wild boars, pizotes, or anteaters, or with even more luck, smaller wildcats.
Besides this, there are several other possibilities to do hiking within the beautiful mountainous surrounding of El Carmen de Nandayure. For mountain biking there are endless possibilities within the area around.
Surfing is just perfect at the nearby beaches (for advanced surfers, Playa Camaronal is just a perfect spot all year round), fishing is also a great deal. Besides this, we can arrange boat trips, horseback riding, sea turtle watching, canopy tours, sea/river kayaking and other kind of activities.
